Academic Profile

Dr. Hawri Omer Majeed was born in Sulaimaney/KRG-Iraq in 1961. He married to the biologist, Chinar H. Sadiq. They have two children, Hane and Havi, aged 12 and 4. He is a lecturer at the University of Sulaimaney. He completed the BSC degree at University of Sulaimaney/ KRG-Iraq. He awarded his MSc from the School of Laser/ University of Technology. He also received his Ph.D. in atomic physics from University of Leeds/UK. The field of physics that Hawri deal with is Quantum Information Processing. He published five paper on precision measurements. He is supervising a Ph.D. student under the split-site system. The project based on magnetometer being used as an atomic sensor. Up until now he is a member of the physics department at the University of Sulaimaney. He taught Laser Physics for the last four years. He is teaching Atomic Physics this new academic year.
