Welcome to my Academic Profile page. My name is Fadhil Ahmed Ameen (Lawa) , I am professor in the Department of Geology /college of science , with 40 years experience in regional geology of Iraq and Kurdistan region.

I am proud that, i have been one of the pioneers staff in the re-establishment of the university of Sulaimani in 1992. Also , i am also proposed the re -establishment of the college of science in 1993, nowadays it becomes the largest college in the University of Sulaimani, both in student numbers and in published articles.

Publications: I am already published more than than 50 scientific Articles, and participates in 30 international conferences . Also, i participates in writing of more than 55 geological reports for geological survey of Iraq, FAO (UN AGENCY) and private sector . MY main interest deals with the regional geology of Kurdistan and Iraq. Especially from integrated stratigraphic point of view . I also supervised seven PhD student and 8 Msc, students among them two of them outside Kurdistan.

1- Geology and structural setting of Qara Sirt Anticline . high folded thrust zone. Kurdistan region-N-Iraq. University of Mosul -Iraq

2- Sedimentological and stratigraphical properties of Lat Oligocene -Early Miocene sequences from selected wells and outcrops in Kurdistan region, N-Iraq.

My research interests focus on:-

1. Integrated stratigraphy (lithostratigraphy, Bisotratigraphy ,, chronostratigraphy , sequence stratigraphy, Tectonostratigraphy, Paleoenvironemnts, basin analysis).
2. Regional geology of Kurdistan (Exploration ; Geological survey and investigations)
3. Kurdistan foreland basin ,generation and developments.-Cretaceous and Tertiary Sequence -bio and Tectonostratigraphy.
4. Cretaceous and paleogene carbonates characterizations.
5. Cretaceous and Paleogene foraminifera
6. Loftusia assemblage and evolution groups in the Maastrichtian green Kurdistan foreland basin
7. Discoveries of new species of Large foraminifera from the Maastrichtian of Kurdistan
