Professor Dr. Abbas Mustafa Abbas
PhD in English Language and Linguistics ( Pragmatics)
Dr. Abbas Mustafa Abbas is a Professor at College of Basic Education-Sulaimani/ University of Sulaimani, Iraq-Kurdistan. His PhD is in Theoretical Linguistics (Pragmatic Politeness with Reference to English and Kurdish) and Abbas primarily considers himself an educationalist and practitioner. He has experience of formal and informal education in the Kurdistan region from basic education study to PhD levels. His varied employment path has also seen his work in fields, translation, Linguistic laboratories, and teaching phonetics. His teaching and research interests are in theoretical linguistics ,contrastive analysis and comparative study (Making Comparison studies in English and Kurdish).

Current teaching and learning responsibilities
I mainly work with research students in the English Department. I give translation and pronunciation subjects to students of English Department – College of Basic Education /University of Sulaimani.
Outline Teaching and Learning experience
I have been involved in teaching and learning for 31 years. I have taught English to preparatory school, methodology to students of teachers’ central institute, pronunciation and English grammar to undergraduates and phonetics, Sociolinguistics, Language,Culture and Communication to postgraduates.
