I am an Associate Professor in Public Economics at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Pavia. 

I received the italian qualification (ASN) to become a full professor in Public Economics (in 2018) and in Economic Policy (in 2020).

From June 1, 2021, to May 31, 2024, I have been on leave to serve as a Quantitative Policy Analyst on Impact Evaluation at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Ispra, within the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (JRC CC-ME) . 

I was recently elected President of the Italian Health Economics Association (AIES) for the 2024-2026 term, after having served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the same Association (2015-2017 and 2020-2023).

Additionally, from May 2024, I am a member of the Executive Committee of the Society of Economics of the Household (SEHO). I am also an External Member of the Health, Econometrics, and Data Group (HEDG) at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York. Furthermore, I serve as a Member of the Scientific Committee of the “Advance Pharmaco & Health Economics” (APHEC) Research Centre at the University of Genoa.

Before joining the University of Pavia, I was an Assistant Professor at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Department of Economics. 

I received my PhD in Economics (a four-year doctoral program offered by the University of Turin) at the Collegio Carlo Alberto, where the "Vilfredo Pareto" School is located. I graduated with honors in Political Science, specializing in Political Economy, from the University of Eastern Piedmont.

My primary research interests encompass health economics, the economics of aging, policy evaluation, and applied micro-econometrics. 

My research papers have been published in international journals, including Health Economics, Health Policy, European Journal of Health Economics, Economics and Human Biology, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Fiscal Studies, Economic Modelling, and the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
