Students are generally expected to read at least for 30 minutes and complete one lesson of math each day. Students should spend no longer than 60-90 minutes on HW. It’s important for children to have sufficient time to play and explore their own interests. If you feel your child needs more practice, please send me an email and I will share resources with you.
Students are expected to use class time efficiently to finish all assignments. The suggested due date will be posted with each assignment on Google Classroom.
Please check your child's school planner. Parents/Guardians will also be added to Google Classroom so everyone can be up to date on current assignments.
Monitor once each evening for the first semester. Please check the math homework for accuracy and completeness. Because I need to monitor writing progress, please do not correct or edit your child's writing.
Update: Your child may need more help getting used to distance learning especially in the beginning of the year. Ultimately, it's best for students to work independently as much as possible.
Please DO NOT sit right next to your child Your child will rely on you to do the work for them instead of building the independence that is so vital in 4th grade. You may periodically check-in with your child to see that he or she is on task and focused, but please do not plan to be there every minute of the day.
