Meet the SELS Consultants

There are two consultants for 2025-26. These SELS consultants:

• • graduated from the University of Minnesota MA TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program

  • have experience teaching English as a foreign/second language

  • have lived abroad

  • have studied at least one foreign language to a proficient level

Cayli

Cayli has worked with English language learners since 2016, from large class to one-on-one settings, with both adult and young students. She has taught in English language programs in the US and in Spain. She has a BA in Spanish and Theater and an MA in TESOL. She enjoys reading, bicycling around town,  taking road trips, and  playing trivia and other games!

David

David has been an instructor in the Minnesota English Language Program (MELP) since 2007.  He has a BA in English (composition) and an MA in TESOL. He has taught abroad at a private language school in Taichung, Taiwan, and at universities in Wuhan, China, and Moscow, Russia.  David enjoys traveling to new places, reading, cooking, gardening, camping, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
