Academic Writing
As a graduate student, you have free access and memberships to many academic and professional development resources, tools, and networks. Find out more HERE
Student Writing Support (SWS) offers collaborative one-to-one writing consultations to help student writers develop confidence and effective writing strategies. Our writing consultants will listen to your goals and concerns, read and respond to your written work, pose questions that help you clarify and articulate your ideas, and affirm the experiences and abilities you bring to your writing. We value your life experiences and languages, and we seek to provide a supportive space for you to share and develop your voice.

Disability and Accessibility
Accessible U: The University of Minnesota offers many resources around accessibility, including accommodations, adaptive technologies and support, consultations, ergonomic devices, training and workshops.
The Disability Resource Center (DRC): partners with students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University to facilitate accessibility and reduce barriers on campus to improve access for disabled people through:
Consulting on strategies to provide access and inclusion;
Determining and implementing reasonable academic, workplace, and guest accommodations;
Partnering with University offices to support meaningful physical and technological access.
Student Access: through the DRC serves degree-seeking and non-degree seeking undergraduate, graduate, and professional students across University programs and disciplines to provide accommodation letters and more.
English Language Learning
The University of Minnesota's English language resource hub: maintained by the Minnesota English Language Program, provides multilingual students with guidance and resources to improve their English language skills and enrich their educational experience. We also provide University faculty and staff with teaching tools and tips for supporting multilingual students.
Tips for online learning: Being an online student has many advantages, but it can also be a new and challenging experience, especially if you are studying in a new language, a new culture, and from a different time zone.
