Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that has not been identified to have a cause. ASD can bring about significant social, behavioral, and communication challenges that affect how those affected interact, behave, and learn. Often, people with ASD have no physical distinctions that set them apart from other people.

ASD now includes conditions that used to be diagnosed separately, such as autistic disorder, Asperger syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified.
