Initiated and chaired an interdisciplinary and international symposium: “Before I Die ... Symposium on Sickness, Suffering, and Death,”  at MF September 30-October 1 2009.

Co-founder of new program unit of the Society of Biblical Literature: “Metaphor Theory and Biblical Texts,”  2009- . (From 2013 the unit is named: "Metaphor Theory and the Hebrew Bible.")
