The Geographic Information Science Student Organization (GISSO) is a welcoming student group for anyone interested in GIS; from MGIS students and geography majors to those in other fields who want to explore mapping and spatial analysis. We offer a space to learn, share ideas, and connect through presentations, career talks, conferences, field trips, and social events!
Each year, we host engaging activities for GIS Day and organize the University of Minnesota GIS Career and Networking Fair. Since our first fair in 2002, it has grown into a dynamic event that brings together students from across campuses with employers in public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors. Attendees can explore vendor booths, hear inspiring GIS presentations, and build connections that open doors to future opportunities! yes
Membership is open to all University of Minnesota students, faculty, and staff. To become a GISSO member, fill out the form below or send an email with your name and department to gisso@umn.edu or just show up to our next meeting! We welcome anyone with interest in GIS.
