4/16/21 Matthew Lamb is awarded a 2021 EECS Outstanding Achievement Award for Electrical Engineering. This is the department's top award, given to just one senior in the major. Matt is not only an amazing electrical engineer, he is also getting a dual degree in violin performance from U-M. Way to go, Matt!

MSE PhD student Ming-Hsun Lee presents on "The effect of silicon ion-implant on charge transport mechanisms or Ti/Au ohmic contacts to β-Ga2O3" in S.EL15.01.08, and I give an invited talk on "Process and Chararcterization of Ohmic Contacts for Beta-phase Gallium Oxide" in S.EL15.01.10. The talks are available on demand through December 31st to all registered conference attendees!

8/1/18 Prof. Peterson, along with colleagues Profs. Elaheh Ahmadi, Emmanouil (Manos) Kioupakis, Cagliyan Kurdak, Jamie Phillips, and Steve Yalisove, receive a $250,000 Research Accelerator award from the University of Michigan's College of Engineering to develop an innovative, environmentally friendly manufacturing method for the deposition of crystalline gallium oxide films for use in high-power devices. Many thanks to the College of Engineering for this support!

11/19/16 Congratulations to PhD candidate Youngbae Son for winning a poster award at the UM Engineering Graduate Symposium. His poster won first prize in the "Optics, Photonics and Solid-State Devices" category. This is his second such award this year; he previously won a poster award at the May 2016 WIMS2 Industrial Advisory Board meeting. Well done, Youngbae!
