6. What is Horner’s syndrome, and what are its symptoms?
Horner’s syndrome is an interruption of a cervical sympathetic trunk (or fibers of the thoracic sympathetic trunk that ascend into the cervical trunk), with potential symptoms of unilateral:
Miosis (constricted pupil),
Ptosis ('droopy' eyelid),
Pseudo-enophthalmos (appearance of sunken globe of eye), and
Anhydrosis (lack of sweating).
