TXJ4E1 HAIRSTYLING AND AESTHETICS, Workplace Preparation Prerequisite: Grade 11 Hairstyling and Aesthetics, Workplace 1 credit in Technology This course enables students to develop increased proficiency in a wide range of hairstyling and aesthetics services. Working in a salon/spa team environment, students strengthen their fundamental cosmetology skills and develop an understanding of common business practices and strategies in the salon/spa industry. Students expand their understanding of environmental and societal issues and their knowledge of post secondary destinations in the hairstyling and aesthetics industry.
SHSM - The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a ministry-approved specialized program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and assists in their transition from secondary school to apprenticeship training, college, university, or the workplace.
