TXJ3E1 HAIRSTYLING AND AESTHETICS, Workplace Preparation Prerequisite: None, Grade 10 Hairstyling & Aesthetics is highly recommended 1 credit in Technology This course enables students to develop knowledge and skills in cosmetology and offers a variety of applications that will equip students to provide services for a diverse clientele. Students identify trends in the hairstyling and aesthetics industry, learn about related health and safety laws, and expand their communication and interpersonal skills through interactions with peers and clients. Students consider environmental and societal issues related to the industry and acquire a more detailed knowledge of apprenticeships and direct-entry work positions.
SHSM - The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a ministry-approved specialized program that allows students to focus their learning on a specific economic sector while meeting the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and assists in their transition from secondary school to apprenticeship training, college, university, or the workplace.
