Summer 2021 - Justin Paul Berina completes a summer internship looking at diatoms in stream bank legacy sediments.  Nathaniel Levia has also joined the group and is looking at how milldams affect stream and riparian insects upstream and downstream of the dams.

Spring 2021 - New Postdoc joins research group from Oregon State University!  Welcome Erin Peck! Erin will be working on two new USDA NIFA projects as well as assisting with existing NSF and other projects.

Marc Peipoch and Jinjun Kan from Stroud Water Research Center receives two new USDA NIFA grants to study - (a) nitrogen processing in legacy sediment plumes in streams and (b) nitrogen and microbial recovery of buried, relict, organic soils following stream restoration.

July 2019 - Welcome to Ginny who started as a new Water Science & Policy program PhD student in the group!  Ginny has received one of the few and highly competitive UNIDEL Fellow awards! Congrats!

Summer 2019 - Justine Paul Berina from Wooster College in Ohio did an undergraduate research internship with us this summer.  He did excellent work and mapped all the historic mill dams in Cecil county Maryland and New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware!

Summer 2019 - Alyssa was also awarded the Best MS student Benton Award from the College! CONGRATULATIONS ALYSSA! Here she is being recognized at the convocation ceremony!

Spring and Summer 2019: Its been a busy time for the group! CONGRATS to Alyssa, Grant, and Nate for successfully defending their Masters thesis!! All three of them have also submitted their thesis manuscripts for journal review - what more could an advisor ask! WELL DONE GUYS!  All three have started new jobs! Best wishes to them in their new careers!

January 2019 - Welcome to Evan Lewis, a new MS Water Science & Policy student in the group!  Evan will be working of the new NSF funded RAPID award.

Fall 2018: Inamdar receives new NSF RAPID award to study how dam removals could affect nitrogen processing in riparian zones.  The work is being conducted in Chiques Creek in PA where a dam was removed on July 9, 2018.

Summer 2018: Congrats to Dan Warner and Chelsea Krieg for successfully defending their PhD and MS degrees! Good work guys!

July 2015 - Erin Johnson and Chelsea Krieg join our research group as new MS students on the newly funded USDA grant.  Welcome Erin and Chelsea!

June 2015 - Inamdar makes return visit to Rennes, France to visit with researchers at the University of Rennes and CNRS and visit their study watershed - Kervidy-Naizin.  Inamdar provided an invited talk and developed new partnerships and collaborations. 

March 2015 - French scientists from University of Rennes visit our experimental research watershed to further strengthen the collaborations between UD and University of Rennes.  Drs. Jaffrezic and Jeanneau also gave an invited talk with the PLSC department on Dissolved organic matter in watersheds!  It was great to have them over.  We plan to make a return visit to France in June 2015!

January 2015 - Guillaume Humbert, PhD student from France, will visiting with our research group for the next 3 months!  Welcome Guillaume! During this time Guillaume will work with us to develop a PARAFAC model on his EEMs data.

December 2014 - Catherine and Doug presented their NEWRnet research at the AGU meeting!

December 2014 - Awesome news!  New USDA project funded! Grant will investigate the transport and fate of particulate nitrogen following large tropical storms.

August 2014 - Thomas Parr joins the group as Postdoc on the EPSCoR Track 1 grant. Welcome Thomas!

Fall 2013 - Two new projects funded! One is a NSF-EPSCoR project in collaboration with researchers from Delaware, Vermont and Rhode Island whereas the other is a USDA project in collaboration with Dr. Rodrigo Vargas from U. of Delaware!
