Curriculum

*Science: We are learning about the human body and how we have multiple systems that work together for survival. We will learn about the digestive system and how it breaks down food into nutrients and energy our body needs. Then we will learn about the respiratory system and how it is used to bring in oxygen and removes carbon dioxide and why our body needs oxygen.

*Math: We are reviewing different ways to solve multiplication. We will be working on the area/array model and partial product. We really want the students to focus on understanding why we multiply and how to get a reasonable estimation to make sure an answer makes sense.

*Social Studies / Writing: We have learned about Natvie American tribes and the region they live in. They compared two tribes from different regions in order to learn that tribes used different materials and lived differently based on their region. They will take the research they learned to create a historical fiction story based in that time period. Students will create a character, setting, problem and solution while including facts about the tribe, region, what they eat, housing, and culture to create a story.
