Welcome to the Antioch Elementary Library/Media Center
Where literacy comes to life!
New and Notable
Did you know that our average daily book circulation is over 325 books? There's a lot of reading going on here at Antioch!! THANK YOU to our wonderful Media Center Volunteers! They are an invaluable help to keep our media center running smoothly and getting books back on the shelves for our readers to check out!
We are always in need of volunteers to shelve books and help with occasional projects around the media center. Please contact Mrs. Kovach (kimberly.kovach@ucps.k12.nc.us) if you are interested. Times are flexible, which is a "perk" of this volunteer job! If you don't feel you can commit to every week, we appreciate help every other week, too.

Staff: Kimberly Kovach, MLS, Media Specialist
Hours: 7:05 am- 2:00 pm Mon.- Fri.
Open checkout for 2nd-5th grade 7:05- 7:30 am every day
Checkout Policies:
Each class visits the library every other week for media class and checkout. Ask your child what day of the week his or her class visits the library, and help your child return library books on that day. K-2 students visit on non-class weeks for a short checkout time. 3-5 students utilize open checkout on selected days.
Books are checked out for two weeks. If he/she is not finished reading a book, it can be renewed for another two weeks, but the book must be brought to the library to do this. The book will be considered overdue if it is not brought in to renew.
We do not charge overdue fines, but only one book at a time can be checked out until the overdue items are returned (applies to students in 1-5th grades). If books are overdue by more than 2 months checkout privileges may be suspended until the books are found or replacements paid for. Overdue notices are sent home and students are encouraged to look, look, look before paying for a book! We accept cash or check for lost or damaged books. If a book is found and returned in good condition within one year, the payment will be refunded.
Kindergarten: 1 book, no overdues permitted
1st Grade: 2 books
2nd Grade: 3 books
3rd- 5th Grade: 3 books (recommended), but a 6 book maximum is permitted when needed for class projects with permission from Mrs. Kovach and classroom teacher. E-BOB team members may have up to 6 books at a time.
