Hello! I have been teaching elementary strings for 22 years in the Unionville Chadds Ford School District. I graduated in 2003 from West Chester University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and again in 2007 with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also received my Elementary General Education K-6 teaching certificate at West Chester University in 2012. I began my violin studies at the age of three. I have performed with the New York School for Strings at Carnegie Hall, Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley, numerous West Chester University ensembles, a violinist with the band Crystal Roxx, and most recently performed with the Chesco Pops Orchestra.
Having a sincere interest in theatre, I have also performed in more than 20 regional and community theatre productions. Some of my favorite roles include the title role in Heidi, Brigitta in The Sound of Music, and Pepper in Annie. I have also recorded vocals for Shawnee Press and received numerous vocal and instrumental recognitions from the National Federation of Music Clubs. I performed in numerous vocal groups during my years at West Chester University and most recently sang with the Brandywine Valley Chorale.
Outside of teaching (and driving my daughter to and from dance), I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, watching movies, reading, cheering on the Phillies, Eagles, Union, and NJ Devils, and especially enjoy hanging with my husband, 13 year old daughter, and our crazy, fluffy, temperamental cat, Indy!
