As part of my dissertation research, these F1 Red abalone were cultured under either control-pH or ocean acidification conditions for 3 months during sensitive developmental stages. Larvae were settled on either crustose coralline algae or Navicula spp. diatoms. After 3 months, animals were cultured under ambient conditions for 6 years and monitored for growth and survival.
