Often firms will not know what they want until they see it. In a diverse market with many solutions jostling for prominence it's hard to know where to begin. Instead of seeing a solution then thinking how your organisation could change to take advantage, it makes more sense to first look at what your goals are. Your long-term vision, budget, established IT policies and geographic spread all have bearing on what solution might work best for your users. Getting to the point of considering viable candidates takes some time. It takes a clear understanding of where you are now and where you want to be, with all stakeholder views considered - Executive, IT, Finance, HR, Facilities and more.
An initial consultation seeks to define what it is you want to achieve, who the stakeholders are, and what an actionable roadmap is to progress to the next step. You will be delivered a report containing a high-level snapshot of your organisation's current services and technologies, the likely challenges in implementing the desired change, and a roadmap to make progress with some initial considerations on technologies or services to further your thinking.
Initial consultations are on a fixed-price basis, with no surprises and defined deliverables.
Once the initial consultation is complete and a decision has been taken to progress, the next stage is a detailed evaluation of potential candidates against agreed business metrics and constraints. The scope of the Detailed Evaluation and deliverables will be agreed and priced before commencement. An example deliverable would be an in-depth report on two candidate technologies or services, with featureset comparisons and high-level budgetary estimates for implementation as either a trial or live deployment.
Once a decision has been taken to progress with a trial or live deployment, a package covering project/program management can be agreed. This could vary from board-level liaison and oversight of staff, contractors or vendors to hands-on project management with day-to-day control of budgets and deliverables. Quality Assurance and Acceptance Testing are key parts of any implementation, UCability can take this role and ensure that agreed deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
