- Evaluation of urban street networks performance to flood risk in Saint Louis city, Senegal.
Abstract: Flood risk assessment currently focus on the areas directly affected by flooding but they lack to address the impacts on the existing street network. Furthermore, most of urban studies has been done in flow of pedestrian movements through streets, transport network reliability, land use patterns, or the distribution of crime but little application exists to the floods scenario. Thus, in this research project we apply space syntax street network analysis methodologies to floods scenario to evaluate performance changes to Saint Louis city structure and activities. This study aim to provide objective indicators to show the indirect impacts of flooding on Saint Louis‘s street networks. The results can be used by decision makers to support a future vision and their investment decisions concerning preventative strategies, disaster management.
