The objective of this educational program is to develop climate and flood risks culture, to explain and make children, from 6 to 15 years, understand actions to prevent, protect and adapt in extreme climate and flood events. It does not constitute a program "apart" from the national teaching program, and will be "integrated" into school curricula, developing expectations in terms of skills, knowledge, awareness, attitudes and values that the student will achieve. The educational program is accompanied by booklet and pedagogical guide for the teacher and an activity booklet for the students. The methodological approach adopted to design the programme is based on two major principles: involvement of all potential actors in the process and adaptation of the program to the cultural context of the country; in order to guarantee national ownership, sustainability of activities and success.
The educational guide is intended for teachers of basic education. It aims to provide them with a practical tool based on the Skills Approach on the use of the program.
The teacher's educational booklet or Teacher's Memento provides technical information and basic scientific knowledge on climate and flood risks in Mali. It is intended for teachers, pedagogical facilitators and other education professionals in Mali in order to offer them avenues for deepening their knowledge on this issue.
This educational booklet of the pupil aims to illustrate more global documents for the acquisition of the concepts of the ERCIM program by relying on the local context close to the reality of Malian students. The different concepts studied are transversal and interdisciplinary.
