The Ukrainian-Canadian Congress – National Youth Advisory Council (UCC-NYAC), a newly formed committee under the umbrella of the National UCC Executive, is proud to announce the launch of its youth survey project entitled “An Investigation of Youth Involvement in the Ukrainian-Canadian Community.”

With each passing generation, youth have visibly become less involved in activities and initiatives of the organized Ukrainian-Canadian community. In order to investigate the factors related to Ukrainian-Canadian youth involvement, the UCC-NYAC has developed a survey aimed at young adults between the ages of 16-35. The goals of this survey include:

- Gaining demographic information about Ukrainian-Canadian youth;

- Identifying factors which promote or hinder involvement of youth in the Ukrainian-Canadian Community ;

- Defining what it means to “be Ukrainian” in the context of Canadian society; and

- Understanding the role of Ukrainian language skills in the 21st century for Ukrainian-Canadian youth.

Ultimately, these survey results will become a valuable source of information for all ethno-cultural community organizations looking to better engage their youth and foster the development of future community leaders.

Please help support this important initiative.
