The Marching Band thanks the University of Alberta Alumni Association and the Office of the Vice-President: External Relations,  for their financial support and their encouragement to establish a modern-era University of Alberta marching band.

The Marching Band acknowledges the financial support of Ms. Pamela Farmer, the Crusaders Marching Band, and Witten Law which has been instrumental in allowing the initiative to form a modern-era University of Alberta marching band to move forward.

The Marching Band thanks Sharon and Elite Sportswear for their generous assistance with commemorative items produced to honor and document the initial years of the University of Alberta 21st Century Marching Band.

If you are a  U of A student you can sign up for UofA Spring Marching Band [EDSE 401/501] on Bear Tracks.  UofA Spring Marching Band is a *3 credit Education course that can fulfill an Education Elective or Open Option requirement of the BEd degree program.  University of Alberta students who are not in the Faculty of Education may also take EDSE 401/501 for credit but should check with their faculty to ensure that it meets an Open Option requirement (or is extra-to-degree) in their degree program.  As well as enrolling through Bear Tracks, please go to the Sign Up page on this site.

Students, alumni, and friends who do not want the *3 credit can sign up to play/march as a fun Spring activity.  Please go to the Sign Up page on this site.

Music rehearsal/marching practices are Tuesday & Thursday, 6:30-8:30 PM from May 7 - June 6, 2024.  Tentative parade dates are Saturdays, May 18, May 25, June 1, and June 8.  There may be one additional parade in Lacombe [transportation provided] on Saturday, July 13.

Some instruments are available for loan.  Flip folders and music lyres will be provided.

Membership is open to all musicians who are minimum 14 years old and have at least one year of playing experience.  You don't play a band instrument but want to participate?  Positions as Banner and flag carriers [color guard] are available.
