A virtual orientation session for this rotation is tentatively scheduled to be held on the first day of the block, starting at 8:00 am, pending availability of the presenter. A calendar invitation containing the Zoom link will be sent to you. Following orientation, please meet with the staff physician on your assigned service. See the Call Schedules for the staff physician and trainee service schedule. If you require assistance locating a staff physician, page them directly by contacting Switchboard at 780-407-6191.
Room 5G1-11 UAH is used for in-person teachings and evaluations while on the ward.
Hematology's On-Call room is room 3H2.47 and the door code is 0047*.
Hematology teaching sessions are scheduled for trainees throughout the block. Calendar invites with Zoom links will be emailed to your ualberta email for each session. Post-call residents are expected to attend. Please see the Lecture Handouts folder to the right.
Residents may be sent an evaluation form after each teaching session to evaluate the presenter. All evaluation information will be collected anonymously.
Junior Lecture Series
The Hematology Faculty host a series of lunch hour lectures for rotating residents. These sessions are considered mandatory for rotating residents and are optional for medical students.
All lectures are virtual and calendar invitations will be sent out. If the lecture is moved to in-person, it will be in room 5G1.11 UAH.
