Objectives:

At the completion of this lesson, you will be able to:

• • construct a definition of Progressivism

  • explain how and why the Progressive movement began

  • evaluate the goals of the Progressive movement

Procedures:

• 1. Using the "Progressivism Intro" worksheet uploaded below, begin to brainstorm ideas about what the progressive movement was all about. You will want to look up the definition of the word progress to help you with the worksheet.

  2. View the presentation on the Origins of Progressivism. Takes notes, using the note sheet below, as you watch it. The text of the presentation is at the right if you'd like to follow along.

  3. Based on what you have learned, go back to the first worksheet (progressivism intro) and edit your definition of progressivism.

  4. When you are done, print out your completed Progressivism Intro worksheet and hand it in to me.
