US History Honors

Course Description

This course examines the forces that make America a superpower, a battleground of rights in conflict, an industrial giant, and a land of many cultures. The course examines the rise of America to world leadership and the problems that result from and threaten that role. A variety of learning opportunities and assessment vehicles are used to accommodate different learning styles, including cooperative group work, short and long-term projects, interpretation of primary source material, notes and reading assignments. I am most concerned with giving my students the information they need to form their own, educated, opinions on historical events. Honors will be reading intensive and require the completion of a mostly self-driven, major research project.

Student’s Responsibilities
