Yorkshire Winter Competition: 9-12 year olds

The first weekend of the "Winter" Yorkshires saw 4 of our Juniors competing in 8 events.  First up on Saturday was Heidi, who achieved a 4 second PB in 100m Backstroke (1:24.78), followed by Libby swimming a 1 second PB in 50m Free (33.84), despite struggling with an ear infection.  On Sunday morning both girls were in action again in 50m Backstroke, with 2 more significant PB swims and both breaking the sub-40 second milestone for the first time (Heidi 38.81, Libby 39.12).  They were joined by Ellie in her first county competition, who also swam a PB in 50m Fly (57.53).  Sunday afternoon saw Heidi and Cormac in action in 50m Breaststroke - remarkably they had similar entry times and both swam 1.5 second PBs to finish in almost identical times (45.19/45.16!).  Ellie competing in 100m Backstroke wasn't quite able to match the huge PB she achieved in the YCBC gala 2 weeks ago, but still put in a solid swim to finish well under her entry time (1:45.18).
