Yorkshire Biathlon Championships

Team Jorvik swimmers Aidan and Heidi Fothergill and Lucy Gilbertson competed in the Yorkshire Region Modern Biathlon Championships on 15th October.  This competition is part of the Modern Pentathlon series and involves a timed run and swim, the distances varying by age, with the points for each section then being added together.  All three produced PBs in both their runs and swims, with Aidan winning the U14B category (1600m run & 100m swim), Heidi finishing 2nd in U12G (800m run & 50m swim) and Lucy coming 6th in U10G (also 800m run & 50m swim).  These great results mean that Aidan and Heidi qualify automatically for the British Biathlon competition in Solihull in November and the British Schools Biathlon at Crystal Palace in March, with Lucy being highly likely to also achieve a qualifying place when the rankings list is published.
