This spinoff of the Lying in Psychotherapy lab, led by sixth-year doctoral student Mandy Newman, looks at the other side of lying in psychotherapy. Specifically, the lab is exploring the instances in which therapists themselves are dishonest with their clients---when, how often, and for what reasons? The lab is also looking at how therapists respond when they believe a client is being dishonest with them, including how therapists believe they can identify lies, how they respond, and the ways in which this varies.
