Three English teachers in the UK and Malta

We got started with Inga taking the 21-hour “Empowerment in ICT Skills” course in Malta. She studied CMS, Computer Mediated Communication, blogging, podcasting, embeddable RSS feeds, creating one’s own Chat Room, designing a Webquest, creating interactive online exercises, creating Avatar, designing one’s own website, downloading and editing video-clips and creating animated slide-shows.

Sirje attended the 44-hour “Language & Methodology Refresher” course in Great Britain. She studied developing new language, teaching vocabulary, encouraging students to speak, making grammar fun, helping ones students to listen, using songs and games, teaching pronunciation, storytelling, planning and implementing appropriate activities, communication and language issues, and developing positive, inclusive working atmosphere that stimulates and encourages young people to reach their full potential.

Also in Great Britain, Triin did the 44-hour “English for Academic Purposes” course to become better at teaching grammar and vocabulary for academic purposes. She studied academic writing, lectures and note-taking, case studies, critical thinking and participating in seminars.

The second project year was dedicated to dissemination and implementation activities. We presented different parts of this project in three staff meetings. We carried out three teacher round-table discussions on everything new we had learned, and we gave six open classes to demonstrate our new skills. Finally, we shared our learning outcomes and intercultural experience nationally at two seminars and internationally at one conference.
