Location Services

The first thing you should do is turn off the location services. If for some reason you need to have them on for a particular app, turn it on for the usage then turn it back off.

Setting up Restrictions

Restrictions stop you from using specific features and applications on your device.

Enabling Restrictions. Go to Settings - General - Restrictions.

- In Restrictions, create a passcode you will remember. If you forget this, your iPad will need to be restored to factory settings. Your child should not have access to this passcode and it should be different from your passcode lock.

- App purchases and IOS updates must be managed at home. Existing network infrastructure does not allow for this to be done at school. In Settings - iTunes & App Store, under Updates, turn off Automatic Downloads for Music, Apps and Updates.

- In App Purchases - Turn off. This will stop any accidental purchases from within a free app. Some free apps have very expensive in-app purchases, so you don't want to get caught out!
