The Maroon Strong Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit providing support for academic projects in Swain County Schools

The Maroon Strong Foundation, Incorporated, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization supporting academic projects of Swain County Schools, with STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts, and math - as primary, but not exclusive, focus areas. The original intent of our 2015 Maroon Strong Fund is largely contained in our Maroon Strong Foundation, Inc.

The Maroon Strong Fund was established in 2015 as a means to provide supplemental funding and sustainability for projects that may not be totally funded by federal, state or local funds, but are deemed extremely important to the education and success of the students of Swain County.  Priorities are guided by Swain County Schools strategic plan, family and community engagement input, our Industry Advisory Council, and budgets as presented by state and local agencies.
