Our Team
Everyone is recruited with the greatest of care. We only employ individuals who display a true enjoyment of entertaining and taking care of children and with at least two good, consistent references & have been fully checked via the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service). All our staff are also registered on the DBS register so we can check their records annually so we know we always have a safe team.
We believe it is important to keep a consistent & reliable team so that the children can really get to know the individuals who take care of them & then hopefully the children should always feel safe & comfortable with us. We believe this to be a very important part of providing outstanding Childcare.
Pippa Alexander – Founder and Manager of the Clubs - Pippa launched the S&S Club in 2006. She has lived in Sarratt for 27 years and been married to David for 35 years. A very proud Mum of Thomas who attended the Clubs from 3 to 11 years old. Thomas is now at University but during the holidays he comes to take care of & entertain the children. The boys especially enjoy his male young energy.
Pippa's previous career could not be more different; Final job before parenthood was in Direct Marketing running the European Office in London of an American Advertising Agency.
“I love being able to honour children's precious childhoods & hopefully create special childhood memories for the children on our care. Since 2006, that has always & will always been my primary motivation. In 2007 I gained an NVQ Level 3 in Playwork Psychology which gave me wonderful knowledge on how to create the best environment for children to thrive in. I was determined all those years ago & very much still am, to supporting other parents by providing totally child focused, safe, reliable and flexible child care.
Since September 2022, when Pippa handed the Before & After School Clubs to the Sarratt & Christ Church Schools to run, she has been studying Psychology with a view of becoming a Children's & Adolsecent Counsellor.
"Some of my most fulfilling moments are when I sit alongside young people as they work out how this complex world works & how it emotionally affects them and help them see a way to not only survive in it BUT thrive in it".
I believe I have EXCELLENT taste in human beings. Below I am VERY PROUD to introduce you to my FABULOUS TEAM. Some of them took me many years of persuasion for them to come to join us. Your children will be/are VERY LUCKY to be looked after by such an EXPERIENCED & CARING TEAM. I know as I see them in action.
Sam Watts - Playworker - Sam was a member of the Sunrise & Sunset Club Team from March 2015 till July 2022 (when Sarratt School took over the running of the After School Club from Pippa). However since August 2022 Sam has very kindly elected to work part time with us during the School Holidays. During the term time, Sam works in Sarratt School as a Cook & also a Playleader in the After School Club. So as you can see that Sam has lots of lovely experience of working with children. Sam has lived in Sarratt for the past 15 years with Gavin & her two children.
Shaona Prashad - Playworker - Shaona was a member of the Sunrise & Sunset Club Team from June 2017 to July 2022 (when Sarratt School took over the running of the After School Club from Pippa). However since August 2022 Shaona has very kindly elected to work part time work with us during the School Holidays. During the term time, Shaona works in Jack in the Box as a Nursery Practitioner. So you can again see that Shaona has lots of lovely experience of working with Children. Shaona lives in Chipperfield with her husband Robin & their two daughters; both of them come to the Club from time to time as they delightfully enjoy it!
Elizabeth West - Playworker - Elizabeth was a member of the Sunrise & Sunset Club Team from November 2020 to July 2022 (when Christ Church School took over the running of the After School Club from Pippa). However since August 2022 Elizabeth has very kindly elected to work part time with us during the School Holidays. During the term time, Elizabeth works in Christ Church School as a Classroom Assistant (often working one on one with children). So yet again you can see that Elizabeth has lots of lovely experience working with Children. Elizabeth lives in Chalfont St Peter. She has three grown up children who are constantly in & out of her life.
