Dear Summit Academy Xenia Families,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Summit Academy Xenia. We are excited to announce that our High School modulars were granted another two year extension through the year of 2023. Summit Academy Management continues to investigate options for a permanent High School location after the modular extension concludes. For those new to Summit Academy, please know that your child will be in a safe environment with a caring and dedicated staff. To our returning families, thank you for your continued dedication.
The 2020-2021 school year continues to present challenges for staff and families due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of August 4, 2020, Superintendent Marthaler announced that school will begin via remote learning for the first quarter with a delayed student start date of August 24, 2020. Students will be allowed to take home their assigned chrome books and cases during quarter one for remote learning. Teachers will be utilizing google website and classroom for lessons and activities, while live and recorded instruction will occur through zoom. More information for remote learning can be found on our Covid-19 page.
At Summit Academy Xenia, families are invited to become active members of the school community. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the PTST, special event participation, or member of one of our school communities, you are encouraged to be involved! Research has determined that parent participation in their child’s school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success. Please see more information regarding parent involvement on our “PTST” or “How to Get Involved” page.
It is our desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school. Up-to-date and additional information will be sent to you though the monthly “Falcon Flyer” newsletter and frequent updates will appear on our school web page. Please pay special attention to the calendar page on the Parent-Student website for updates on school events. If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to give your child’s teacher or the office a call. I look forward to having a long and meaningful partnership with you and your family.
Yours in Education,
Mrs. Cassy Stidham
