MEN'S CHOIR
MEN'S CONCERT CHOIR
Credit: 1 Unit /Fine Art/Year
This is a performing choir separated into tenor-bass voices in grade 9-12. Music of various styles and periods will be
presented and learned. Students will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of music reading
skills and vocal techniques. Examples of choral performances are winter and spring concerts.
Members from this group are selected to perform with All Conference Choir and All District choir.
Solos and ensembles for district music contest may also come from this group. Students
will be expected to show cooperation and effort, maintain a professional attitude, participate in all
performances, and maintain an “A” or “B” choir grade average. Students will be graded on level of
participation and any written class work. A student is not graded on the quality of his/her singing voice, but
on the effort put forth to improve his/her voice. This is a performance based class – students will be expected
to attend outside concerts and performances.
PREREQUISITES: 9-12 with choir director recommendation or audition.
