About Mr. Andreas

Kody Andreas currently teaches kindergarten through fourth grade general music and 3-5 choir in the Spackenkill School District.

He has earned a Masters of Music Education (Kodaly Pedagogy) degree from the University of Hartford and a Bachelors in Music Education with concentrations in voice, early childhood music, and special education from the Crane School of Music. In addition, he holds an A.A.S. in Music from Orange County Community College. Kody’s high academic achievement has earned him over twenty-two scholarships and academic awards including the prestigious Suny Potsdam Faculty Award. Kody holds certifications in Kodaly Level I and II, Orff-Schulwerk Level I, First Steps in Music, Conversational Solfege I and Music Together.

Kody has recently been awarded the 2022 New York State Early Career Achievement Award by the New York State School Music Assiociation (NYSSMA).

Kody has presented at several workshops including the 2018 Early Childhood Music and Movement Association International Convention at Buffalo State College and the 2019/2020 NJMEA State Conferences. One of his workshops entitled "How Far I'll Go" presents ways in which to incorporate popular children's media into the general music classroom. In addition, Kody served as the 2019 All-County Elementary Chorus Chair for in 2020 for Dutchess County.
