About Ms. Bailey...

I grew up in LeClaire, IA where I attended Pleasant Valley Schools and graduated in 1999!  I graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2003 with my Bachelors degree in Music Education and obtained my Masters of Arts in Teaching through Morningside College in 2020.  I have been blessed to be surrounded by fabulous educators my entire life, both before and after I started teaching!

I am in my 21st year of teaching and I love teaching our Pleasant Valley 6th Grade Band students at Cody and Pleasant View Elementary Schools!  I was happy to make that transition in 2014 after teaching 8th Grade Band and Jazz Band at PVJH for 11 years.  Formerly, I also taught 5-12 Instrumental Music in the Calamus-Wheatland School District and completed my student teaching in the Davenport School District.

I am an active member of the Iowa Bandmasters Association and the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association.  I am also a proud member of the Iowa State Education Association and the Pleasant Valley Education Association.

I keep busy musically by accompanying several students for local solo and ensemble festivals throughout the Quad Cities, playing marathon piano sessions at home, and practicing all of the other band instruments when I get a chance!

I live in Davenport with my boyfriend (who is also a band director!) and our two adorable black and tan short-haired dachshunds: Lieutenant Kijé and Symon.  We are "foodies" and also love to travel when we get the chance!
