Students entering English 3R, are expected to read two books during the summer. One book should be from the list of required texts. The second book should be a personal choice. This book can be any genre; however, aim to read books you find interesting that also have some complexity and merit.

English 3R Summer Reading Assignment
Only students who read two books are eligible to receive full credit for this assignment. All students will be required to write a brief essay in class based on a book (or an English Regents practice essay, if the reading was not done). Students who read two books will prepare a book talk in addition to writing an essay.
