EASTERN SUBURBS
PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ GYMNASTIC COMPETITION
DATE: Monday 2nd August 2021 (Week 2, Term 3)
VENUE: Eastern Suburbs Gymnastic Club, 89 Apirana Avenue, Glen Innes.
CLOSING DATE: Friday 25th June
COMPETITION LEVELS:
YEAR 3 and YEAR 4 - “Springers” (girls and boys)
YEAR 5 and YEAR 6 - “Flyers” (girls and boys)
TEAMS: Individual and team event. A team consists of min 3 and max 4 gymnasts in each level and are created by the competition organizer after the competition using the top three marks on each apparatus. The top 3-4 individuals will make team 1, the next top 3-4 gymnasts will make team 2 and so on.
QUALIFICATION: From this cluster competition, the three top boys and girls teams in each year qualify, plus the top eight individuals, if they are not already in the top three teams, to compete at the Auckland Primary Schools Champion of Champions to be held on Thursday 16th September at Tri Star Gymnastics Club.
ENTRY FEE: $10 PER GYMNAST.
WITHDRAWALS: We don't refund withdrawals submitted less than 1 week before the date of the competition.
THE AWARDS: Participation certificates, placement certificates for the top 6 individuals and cups for the top 3 teams in each year. The cups won are transferable and schools keep them for 1 year. If the cup is not returned, the fee of $50 will incur.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This competition will go ahead if 3 or more schools participate. If we receive less than 3 schools entries this event will be canceled and participating schools will be forwarded to Remuera cluster zone.
This year we are partnering with Eastern Suburbs Gymnastics Club to offer before school training for this competition.
Time: 8:00am - 8:45am every Thursday from 13th May to Thursday 1st July.
Venue: Eastern Suburbs Gymnastics Club, 89 Apirana Avenue, Glen Innes.
The number of places is limited. As such we ask that you only register your child's interest if you are able to attend all of the training sessions and you are able to take them to the competition. Please note there is also an entry fee.
Expressions of interest will close next Monday 12th May and we will then contact those who have places. It will be first come first serve. In the event of a large number of registrations priority for these spaces will be given to those who are not already members of gymnastics clubs as learners who already attend gymnastics clubs will be able to train there.
Learners can still enter the competition without taking part in these training sessions. The entry forms for the competition will be send out to schools later this term.

Please complete this form to register your child to take part in the Eastern Suburbs Primary Gymnastics Competition on Monday 2nd August.
There is an entry fee of $10 which will be added to your school account and must be paid before entries close on Friday 25th June.
Although the school have to complete the entry form parents will be responsible for accompanying their child to this competition. Due to the small number of learners who take part it is unlikely a teacher will be able to accompany the learners.
