Saint Jerome (ca. 345- 30 Sept 420) is the patron saint of libraries! He was a scholar and a priest from the early church with a fiery temper! But his dedication to the study of scripture earned him the title of Doctor of the Church. He is the patron saint of libraries because he translated the Bible into Latin, and this translation, called the “Vulgate,” became the official Bible text of the Church.
