Important Audition Reminders
All auditions are closed to audience members. For the sake of our young performers, all parents must wait outside while their child completes the audition process. No exceptions.
Individual auditions will consist of slating, performing a side (a scene from the show included in this packet), and singing an excerpt from an Anastasia song (the accompaniment track will be played during the audition).
Every year is a clean slate, and there are a limited number of parts in every play.
Auditioning does not guarantee every child a part, regardless of what they may or may not have done in past performances at SJL or elsewhere.
We highly recommend students listen to the Anastasia soundtrack to help prepare for the audition (and the callback, if they are asked to attend callbacks). The audition segments (vocal and accompaniment tracks) can be found at the links below. The sides do NOT have to be memorized, but the more familiar students are with them, the better.
