Stillwater Ponies prides ourself on always having high-quality routines entered in all divisions of competition. We demand the best out of our athletes - in precision and creativity. The swimmers and coaches write all the choreography, and we have a lot of fun doing it!
Synchro coaches have a lot of strategy to consider when putting together a season of routines. High school synchronized swimming in MN has three divisions of competition: Short, Long, & Extended. Within each division there are solos, duets, trios and teams. Schools are allowed to enter up to 18 routines in the solo/duet/trio categories, and they are allowed to enter as many team routines as they can. Swimmers are allowed to be in up to three routines (one must be team). There are many other rules to consider in strategy as well... placement, moving up in divisions, qualifying at sections, etc.
Routines are judged on the following:
Execution & Synchronization
Difficulty
Artistic Impression: choreography, music interpretation, presentation
