Course Description

In Level 4 German you will continue with reading, listening, speaking, and writing lessons in the German language. You will also continue learning new grammatical concepts. We will cover general topics that include: Contemporary Life, Science and Technology, Global Challenges, Families and Communities, Personal and Public Identities, and Beauty and Aesthetics. Note-taking is a must. Syllabus is subject to changes.

*Attendance: In order for you to get the most out of your education, it is imperative that you be in school each day. There is a lot work that is done on a daily basis in class, so if you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up all the work that was missed.

*Tardy Policy: You are expected to be present and punctual for all of your classes throughout the year. Students should review the Student Code of Conduct for specific details on attendance procedures and tardy consequences.

*Class work may come from a myriad of resources including, but not limited to, textbooks, lesson packets, and/or the internet. Although most assignments will be completed during class time, the end of class will allow for continued practice activities (aka homework). You will also be involved in many individual and/or partner lesson projects and activities to enhance your knowledge in the German language, cultures, and traditions.

*Homework may be assigned and checked for completion and accuracy. It’s best to keep up with the work so that you don’t fall behind. Some assignments may count towards a formative grade. If you miss a class, go to Google Classroom to find notes, notifications, assignments, and/or any other helpful information. Remember, you are responsible for collecting what you have missed.

*Curriculum: many units will be assessed in all of the 6 standards. These are the units for the year:
