Mathematics 1201 is intended for Level I students who will move into either the Advanced or the Academic Math programs in Level II.

This class was scheduled to be your second class to work on the unit 5 assignment #1. As today was a snow day you are working from home. Feel free to email me with any questions you have. The assignment is still due on Wednesday. We'll continue on to section 5.4 next class.

Thursday, February 27th

Today students worked on the unit 5 assignment #1. Remember there are three parts to this. There is the original assignment plus the extra sheet on interpreting graphs. In addition to the questions on this second sheet, you are also required to choose one of the series displayed on the graph and write a full, paragraph-style description of the object's motion. This must include specific values for speed, distance, and time for each interval and will be graded based on clarity of the communication as well as the content.

Due to today's school closure, the unit 3 test will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 18th. I will be online today (via above zoom link) at 11 am to answer any questions students might have. Today we covered section 3.4 on expanding. Please get started on your worksheet. You'll have next class to finish this one as well as the GCF worksheet you got last class. Both worksheets should be completed and handed in by Friday.

Today we covered section 3.3 on factoring polynomials using a GCF. For homework please complete the worksheet you received in class. This must be handed in on Thursday.

Today we covered section 3.2 on perfect squares and perfect cubes. No homework today.

Today we covered section 3.1 on greatest common factors and lowest common multiples. For homework please complete the following three questions:

  • Find the prime factorization of 2480.
  • Find the GCF for 224 and 632.
  • Find the LCM for 14, 21, and 32.
