Flexible/Virtual Learning
SNOW FLEX DAYS
Snow days are separate from FLEX days. Snow day= off no school or work. FLEX day= school closed complete work.
In the event of a snow weather day (we will call this a FLEX DAY) student will need to complete the packet of work (choice board) that will be sent home to count for a day of school. Work is found in the RED FOLDER labeled FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION. Normally, these days occur after our snow days have been exhausted. Please listen to Option C or WFMZ to find out if the day is a SNOW DAY (no work) or a FLEX DAY (red folder). Completed work must be sent back to count as a day of school attended.
To have a snow FLEX day count as a day of school students will need to complete the choice board in the red folder. Each day we have a snow day students will choose one activity from each column. This is a total of 5 activities PER day, which is the same as one activity in each subject heading. Please return the completed work on the day we return to school. You do not need to make a bingo with your work you may choose activities in any order. If we have multiple snow days please do not complete an activity you have already completed. Parents please initial and date the box when your child completes an activity. The only activity that students will not need to turn in something for is praying the Rosary. Videos and photos can be sent through email or Classtag.
Office hours for student or parent questions are on Zoom. The link will be sent to you via email on FLEX days. The times are 11-11:30 AM and 12:30-1 PM
Virtual Instruction
Virtual Instruction is being able to learn over a different environment besides the classroom.
At St. Ann we will use Google Classroom and Zoom as our assignment delivery and live video class, respectively.
Google Classroom
I will use Google Classroom to post assignments, activities and resources. This is a protected site. Students need their log-in information to access the site.
For students who need online learning due to COVID, worksheets, materials and such can be found here. Work can also be sent to parent emails to print. Families need to pick up work and books for students before the can go online.
Zoom
Zoom is the platform we will use to have virtual face to face instruction.
On Snow FLEX days I will have office hours from 11-11:30 AM and 12:30-1 PM for any students or parents who need clarification on the work. Zoom informations will be sent by email to protect privacy. Please make sure to use the child's last name so I can accept you to enter. This is optional!
I will send a zoom link for all meetings. Students would need to type THEIR REAL NAME so I know who to allow into class.
If you end up learning at home at any point this year, links and times will be sent to parents emails and posted on Google Classroom. This is private information.
Students are expected to follow all classroom rules and behavior over zoom.
Boom Learning
Boom learning is a great way for students to easily practice reading, phonics, and math concepts. Boom allows students to play decks of cards on an electronic device. These decks may be played an unlimited amount.
Boom cards will be assigned as a homework option.
Each student will receive their own log-in code, which will be sent home as well.
