Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at St. Edmond School District. This school year is going to be a great one!!
6TH GRADE MATH:
The students will learn to evaluate expressions, work with: ratios, fractions/decimals, percents, integers, rational numbers, Geometry, probability, and statistics. The students will expand on their knowledge of these topics from 5th grade and continue to expand their skills in these areas.
*** Students do have the opportunity to correct any homework assignment they are not happy with and receive half credit for each problem missed. This must be turned in the next day from which the assignment is returned to them. ***
Materials needed: Pencil, paper, McGraw Hill Math Book (provided), and calculator (I have extras if one is not brought)
6TH GRADE SCIENCE:
The students will conduct experiments and evaluate the importance of: Molecules and Organisms, Cells/Matter, Earth, the various systems and cycles of the Earth, how humans have impacted the Earth, Earth's place in the universe, as well as outer space. Students will be able to identify and discuss these topics through a variety of activities.
Materials needed: Composition Notebook, Pencil, 3X5 Notecards

Grading: For all of my classes, I use a total points system. No grades will be weighted. Refer to the parent/student handbook for the St. Edmond Grading Scale.
Late Work: Students are expected to have work completed. If the work is not complete when the assignment is due, the grade will drop to a 65% if turned in the next day. It will be a zero if it is not turned in at all.
Make-up Work: Students have 2 days to make up work for an excused absence. They need to come see me if they did not request homework when called in for the absence.
