Online Safety for our Students
In the age of distance learning, online safety is paramount.
Having access to a wealth of information is amazing and scary at the same time, since students may not grasp the principles of internet safety.
The internet is a valuable tool for research, and it helps us see and understand the world — but the internet is a two way highway, which means that the world can see us back.
So how do we make sure our students know how to stay safe online? We teach them internet safety by laying a foundation for safe online behavior like:
Good digital citizenship
Safe and ethical internet practices
Identifying online scammers and predators
Protecting privacy
Creating and using strong passwords
Recognizing and stopping cyberbullying (and how to avoid the bystander effect)
