1.) Always begin practicing by playing a D scale up and down. Play it slow.
2.) Continuously check your posture, bow hold, and bow placement while you are practicing.
3.) After playing your D scale, practice any Essential Elements book homework you've been assigned. Play the exercises slowly and repeatedly. Once they are accurate at a slow tempo, try a faster tempo (but don't forget about the RESTS!)
4.) After practicing your D scale and Essential Elements book homework, you can move onto orchestra song homework (your concert songs). Focus on one line at a time- don't try to play the whole page at once really fast. Work on one measure at a time if you need to.
5.) Make sure you practiced 20 minutes total! 20 minutes, 5 days a week is the minimum standard :)
