• The goals are to read novels that will enrich vocabulary and understanding of literature. 

• Explore several different modes of writing, strengthening and adding to what we already know. 

• Independence and responsibility with reading assigned outside of class and some Google Classroom assignments online as well.

• Analyze cultural wealth, intersectionality, race, ethnicity, and identity in America while achieving mastery of key California Common Core Standards for English Language Arts.

• Late Work: please email me and speak to me; we can arrange a solution. It is IMPORTANT that you have the reading completed on time.

• Absences: Students have the number of classes missed to make up the work. This is ed. code. ALL absent work can be found on Google Classroom.

• Be kind! 

• Be on time because it's respectful. Speak to me if you have concerns.

• Extra Credit: I don't offer this but I am flexible and I offer tutorials. 

• Homework: READ

Cheating is:                                                                                

• copy/pasting anything from the internet                      

• Using the exact same ideas as the internet                    

• Copying another student’s homework                             

• "Working with a partner" and turning in nearly the same product (exceptions made for actual partner work)

• Using AI
